All car rentals, car hire and leasing are subject to the Terms and Conditions as laid out here below:

Driver's License Requirements

The renter and all authorized drivers must present a valid, unexpired, and original driver's license at the time of the rental. The driver's license must be in good condition and valid for the entire rental period. Temporary Licenses are only accepted when presented alongside the original expired or voided driver's license. Photocopies, digital licenses, Learner's Permits, and driver's licenses with driving restrictions will not be accepted. All drivers must produce a valid passport and/or Identification Card at the time of rental. You are responsible for complying with all licensing and traffic laws and regulations. Driver's license must also be with Roman Alphabet (English) so the License could be for example in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc but it must also be in English. If the Driver’s License is not also written in English then it must be complemented by an international driver's license.

Age Restrictions

Certain regulations apply related to minimum age and possession of driver's license which can be found during the booking process depending on the booked vehicle. Drivers must be over the age of 25 years and under the age of 75 years and must hold a valid Driver’s License for a minimum of 3 years. Drivers between 21 and 24 years and between 76 and 85 years must pay an extra insurance premium of €5 per day. For certain specialty and larger-sized vehicles the minimum age of 25 years of age applies. An Underage Driver Fee will apply for drivers under 25 years.

Vehicle Categories

Our vehicles are categorized using the SIPP (Standard Interline Passenger Procedure) codes which are the Industry standard in the Car Rental business to summarize the key features of the vehicles. Vehicles are booked by category/group, not by specific models and are subject to availability. A.AN. Economy Rent A Car Ltd reserves the right to upgrade your vehicle without prior notice, if the model/group requested becomes unavailable for unforeseen circumstances. The rate will remain the same as originally quoted with no extra charge for the upgrade.

Vehicle Capacity

The number of people capacity provided is according to the official registered number of seats (with seat safety belts) and luggage capacity is a guide only depending on the luggage size, shape and the material made (plastic or fabric).  Provided. Most of our vehicles can carry from 5 up to 9 people comfortably but some vehicles have limited boot/cargo space. If you are in any doubt, please contact one of our officers for advice prior to your booking in order to avoid any disappointment upon pick up.

Vehicle GPS tracking device

All our vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking devices for safety and security reasons and data will only be used for company purposes.

Fair Fuel Policy

Fuel is not included in the rental cost and vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as collected (Full to Full, ½ to ½ etc) to avoid any fuel charges. Alternatively, you may pay for the fuel upon collecting your vehicle and return it back empty.

Optional Extras

The first baby/child seat is free and included in your quotation. For a second and/or more baby/child seat there is a surcharge of €3 per day. Be aware that baby/child safety car seats are mandatory in Cyprus. Due to insurance rules and regulations, you will be required to fit the safety car seat yourself.

Satellite Navigation systems with Cyprus road maps can be provided with a surcharge of €5 per day.

If you are travelling with golf clubs, baby prams, wheel chairs, mobility scooters or you just have excess luggage that will not fit into the vehicle you booked, we can provide the transfer for this additional luggage to your booked accommodation. This optional service must be booked in advance and the cost varies depending on the distance between your Arrival/Departure Airport and your booked accommodation.

The first additional driver (second driver) is free and already included in your quotation. For additional drivers there is a surcharge of €3 per day. This charge may change according to the driver age and driving experience.

The C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) included in your quotation reduces your liability for any damage that may be caused to our vehicle while the vehicle is in your possession/rental as follows:
For categories MDMR and EDMR €300 excess
For categories EDAR, CDMR and CDAR €400 excess
For categories CDAH, IDMR, IDAR and SWAR €500 excess
For categories SDAR, STMR, FDAH, FDAR and SVAR €900 excess
For categories FVAR, SFMR, SFAR, FFMR, FFAR and GFAR €1,100 excess
For categories PTAR, PWAR and PDAR €1,600 excess
For category PVAR €2,500 excess

The C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) provides coverage (minus the excess) only for damages and third party claims in the case that the vehicle is involved in a collision/accident with another vehicle/other vehicles on a public road and the correct procedure of reporting the collision/accident is followed. In the case of a collision/accident involving the rental vehicle (no matter whose fault it is) you must notify A.AN. Economy Rent A Car Ltd on the emergency and other telephone numbers provided without moving the car from the scene of the collision/accident. Failure to do so will invalidate the insurance.

S.C.D.W.(Super Collision Damage Waiver) is optional and reduces the excess amount on your insurance cover by 60% as follows:
For categories MDMR and EDMR €120 excess
For categories EDAR, CDMR and CDAR €160 excess
For categories CDAH, IDMR, IDAR and SWAR €200 excess
For categories SDAR, STMR, FDAH, FDAR and SVAR €360 excess
For categories FVAR, SFMR, SFAR, FFMR, FFAR and GFAR €440 excess
For categories PTAR, PWAR and PDAR €640 excess
For category PVAR €1000 excess

W.U.G. (Wheels, Underside and Glasses) insurance is not included and can be purchased:
For catagories MDMR, EDMR, EDAR, CDMR, CDAR, CDAH, IDMR, IDAR and SWAR the surcharge is €4 (VAT is included) per day.
For categories SDAR, STMR, FDAH, FDAR, SVAR, FVAR, SFMR, SFAR, FFMR, FFAR and GFAR the surcharge is €5 (VAT is included) per day.
For categories PTAR, PWAR, PDAR and PVAR the surcharge is €10 (VAT is included) per day.

Payment

All rental costs are payable and must be completed upon collection (pick up) of the vehicle in € (euro) by cash or major Credit/Debit card. Additionally a Bank transfer can be used in which case, after your booking please request our company’s Bank details for your transfer.

Security Deposit

A security deposit will be held on your credit card or cash during the vehicle rental period with the amount depending on the category and the level of insurance of the rented vehicle (your excess amount plus €100). Provided all goes well during the car rental period and the vehicle is returned in the same condition as collected, the security deposit will be released/cancelled.

One way Rentals

One way rentals are allowed as long as they are prearranged and agreed.

Collection (Pick up) of your vehicle

For both Larnaca Airport (LCA) and Paphos Airport (PFO) we provide Safe, Easy and Fast service in Terminal so you do not need to take a shuttle bus to our offices and parking lot. You just walk into your rented vehicle. One of our Agents holding a sign with our company name (Economy Rent A Car) will be waiting for you in the Arrival Hall and will escort/walk you to your car waiting for you right outside the Terminal.  For collections (pick up) at your hotel we will meet you at the Hotel reception area at the prearranged time.

Driver/Hirer responsibilities

The Driver/Hirer is responsible in inspecting the vehicle noting and pointing to any preexisting damage upon the collection (pick up) of the rented vehicle (we advise you to take photos of the vehicle all around). During the rental period and while the vehicle is in the possession of the driver/hirer, all traffic rules and regulations must be followed and any traffic violations and/or fines and/or recovery costs are the driver’s/hirer’s responsibility. The driver/hirer is responsible in driving the rented vehicle with caution and care making sure that the car is driven sensibly and without negligence at all times ensuring for example that the vehicle is not driven with flat tyre(s) or with any of the dashboard warning light symbols and indicators on. The rented vehicle must be kept as clean as possible and smoking inside is NOT allowed. The only person(s) allowed and insured to drive the rented vehicle is (are) the one(s) agreed between the Hirer and A.AN. Economy Rent A Car Ltd and are written and shown on the rental agreement. The rented vehicle can NOT be used off road (non asphalted roads), to propel or tow any other vehicle or structure/goods, for racing, for speed testing, to carry passengers or goods for reward, outside Cyprus or in the Turkish occupied areas or for any illegal purposes. The driver/hirer must drive the rented car responsibly following the driving and car rental rules and is not allowed to drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, medication and/or drugs. The insurance of the rented vehicle is immediately invalidated and canceled and the driver/hirer is held fully responsible and must pay all damages if any of the terms and conditions are not respected, honored and followed or damages are caused intentionally or are caused due to the driver/hirer has been driving the car irresponsibly and/or negligence.
A.AN. Economy Rent A Car Ltd has the right to refuse to conclude or terminate the rental agreement and take immediate possession of the rental vehicle at any time if, in its absolute discretion, the driver(s)/hirer is not following the terms and conditions set out and agreed.

Returning the rented vehicle

Upon return (drop off) of the rented vehicle, the driver/hirer must follow the instructions given at the time of the collection (pick up) of the vehicle returning it to the same location instructed and agreed. The driver/hirer must make sure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition (including all equipment in it) as it was collected and with the same amount of fuel as it had upon collection (pick up). We advise you to take photos of the vehicle all around upon delivering (drop off) the vehicle back. Any damage not recorded upon the delivery (pick up) will be considered new and the driver/hirer will be held responsible and liable to pay for it. It is also required that the vehicle is returned (dropped off) with normal clean interior. If the vehicle interior is exceptionally dirty upon return or if there is damage to the seats, seat upholstery and carpets an additional charge for deep cleaning and repairs will be applied.

Occupied part of Cyprus

Insurances companies do not provide any insurance coverage for the rented vehicles travelling to the occupied northern part of Cyprus. Even if you purchase an extra insurance coverage from the check points or follow the reporting guidelines in case of an accident in the occupied northern part of Cyprus the insurance becomes invalid. Also A.AN. Economy Rent A Car Ltd is not able to provide you with support in the case of an accident or a breakdown. Therefore driving to the occupied northern part of Cyprus is done entirely at your own risk and you will be fully responsible for any accidents, damages, recovery or additional costs that may arise.
